are you requiring masks to be worn?

masks and face coverings will not be required for entry to the museum; however, they are strongly encouraged — especially for those still unvaccinated as recommended by the cdc. if you do not have your own mask or face covering, we are happy to provide one for you.

will you provide hand sanitizing stations? where?

yes, hand sanitizing stations will be available to guests in the common area at the front of the museum, and down our main hallway. visitors are encouraged to sanitize their hands upon entry to the museum.

how frequently are you cleaning the museum?

we have implemented an extra level of cleaning and sanitizing that meets or exceeds cdc and who guidelines. a thorough cleaning and sanitation of all public spaces, particularly high-touch areas, will be performed hourly by our visitor services team including door handles, restrooms and benches.

do you have contactless payment?

yes, we have implemented new contactless transaction systems for all purchases. for the safety of all guests and staff members, cash payments will not be accepted for dc shop purchases. credit/debit card or contactless (NFC) payment will be required for all transactions.

how will you create a space for social distancing in the galleries?

we are taking the following extra steps to ensure that all staff and visitors are aware of how to be safely distanced from others during their visit:

  • timed ticket reservations will be required in advance to any visit.

  • we have invested in a tracking system that will allow us to maintain a safe capacity in the building.

  • we have signage throughout the museum to help visitors maintain 6 feet of distance between themselves + other guests.

  • floors will be marked to ensure easy, safe flow of visitation in the building.

how does timed ticketing work?

we require all visitors to reserve a timed ticket in advance of visiting to allow us to control the number of people in the building at any given time.

you will receive an email confirmation once you reserve your tickets. this email is what you will show the front desk when you arrive. you may also print out your ticket instead. please arrive during the 2-3 hour limit of your timed ticket. if your plans change or you are unable to visit during your selected day/time, please contact info@dallascontemporary.org to reschedule or cancel your reservation.

what is your policy if a visitor or staff member notifies you that they have been exposed to COVID-19 and/or tested positive for COVID-19 during a period when they were present at the museum?

any visitors or staff who were present on the day in question will be notified via email.

does the museum offer coat and bag check?

dc does not provide a checkroom service. scooters, skateboards, backpacks, rolling bags, and all items over 11 × 17 × 5” [28 × 43 × 13 cm] are not permitted in the museum.
