Charles Smith II: Limited Edition Bandana Woven Blanket
Bring home a limited edition bandana woven blanket by designer Charles Smith II designed especially for Dallas Contemporary. A rising up and coming young designer originally from Harlem, New York now residing in Dallas, TX, Charles Smith II is leading the art and fashion community in young generations both in his city and on an international stage. His diverse aesthetic vision is apparent in his luxury brand “SMITH II” and his edgier ready-to-wear brand “DO NOT TOUCH,” a concept line for young but all fashionistas who are also influenced by the world of fashion but still want to eat after acquiring it.
"The bandana motif in fashion, culture and hip hop stretches across all races, genders & ethnicities but my direct connection to it is that of street gang culture parallel to that of aristocratic coat of arms. That of a european family crest makes them family. For where I come from we adopted the 17th century bandanna motif to represent community and depending on the color of which you represent also identifies which sector of community you reside or the set you are from. This is symbolism in our coat arms and this is our version of family ties representation." - Charles SMITH II
