operation kindness: pet adoption day

we’ve partnered with operation kindness for a pet adoption day at the museum. be ready to take home your new best friend and donate pet supplies.

since 1976, the operation kindness mission has been – to create a lifesaving shelter for homeless animals that have nowhere else to turn. their idea is simple: homeless pets need to be shown kindness. for this passionate group of animal lovers, their goal is to provide shelter, medical care, and food to homeless animals while working hard to find them loving, responsible homes.

11.00 am - 12.00 pm

yoga + sound bath: sanctum med + wellness

dallas contemporary + sanctum med + wellness have partnered to present an inspiring one-hour yoga nidra (yogic sleep) and sound bath surrounded by art to heighten the senses. you will experience healing and relaxing sounds as they wash over you from all corners of the room. the vibrations of the sounds mix with your own inner energies to balance the mind and body and release any inner stress or overwhelm. the session will be led by PRIYA patel, sanctum med + wellness chief wellness officer. this will reduce stress, increase focus, and revitalize the senses with a sense of gratitude toward the arts.

led public tour: natalie wadlington

don’t miss the guided tour of natalie wadlington’s exhibition places that grow with exhibition curator, emily edwards.

natalie wadlington, a california native who now calls college station in east texas home, makes her institutional debut at dallas contemporary this spring. wadlington’s presentation features a new series of figurative paintings created in the artist’s signature style, who come together in symbolic scenes that mirror humanity’s complex struggles in understanding and caring for mother earth. inspired by the expansive and ever-changing sky in her new home state of texas, the paintings appoint the celestial sphere as the covert protagonist and are set in all times of day, from dusk to dawn.
