have an abundance of empty toilet paper rolls lying around the house? instead of tossing them in the trash, use this lesson plan to create toilet paper roll stamps! these stamps are a cute, inexpensive + easy way to create unique pieces of art, handmade wrapping paper, or personalized greeting cards.

empty toilet paper rolls
scissors
paint
paper
rubber bands (optional)
step 1
gently cut your tubes in half. this will multiply the number of stamping shapes you can create.
step 2
shape your tubes!
for geometric shapes like triangles, squares + rectangles, create the required number of corners by folding your tube.
play with these shapes until you reach your desired configuration.
for heart shapes, flatten your tube and press down along the two creases.
next, invert the creases in order to begin creating the heart shape.
use a rubber band to secure this new shape for stamping.
for more complex shapes, use your imagination + explore other shape possibilities.
rubber bands are a great tool for holding any desired shape in place.
