about casa valhalla
a magical place where guests live between nature and the sea -- where art, architecture, design, cuisine meet to provide guests with an unparalleled experience.
valhalla’s unique architectural concept + design has been conceived and developed by the renowned tatiana bilbao estudio, one of the most prestigious young mexican architects, whose works have been shown recently at the louisiana museum of modern art in denmark and the sfmoma in san francisco. bilbao received the 2012 kunstpreis berlin and the 2014 global award for sustainable architecture and currently holds a recurring teaching position at yale university school of architecture.
contemporary art is a major creative energy within the house and the collection of art works have been commissioned especially for it by curator viviana kuri of the maz museum in guadalajara, and curator of the ceramica suro show at dallas contemporary this spring. artists in the collection include sarah crowner, jose davila, mario garcia torres, alicjia kwade, jorge mendez blake, and gabriel rico, among others.
for one night only you will have the chance to bid on this gem of a property that counts with six ocean view suites, various social areas, a heated infity pool, private ocean access and offers guests personalized high level service including customized local culinary menus created by their in-house chef.
the house has a spectacular 180° views of banderas bay, from puerto vallarta to cabo corrientes & the marietas islands, allowing the guests sightings of whales, dolphins and other fauna. it also has direct access to a private beach, and is located between rock breaks within the “windy tunnel” area, making it a great hotspot for surfing + kite surfing. guests will have access to the w beach club located only three minutes away in the spectacular white sand veneros beach.
the surrounding area offers all kinds of off-premise activities that can be arranged for valhalla’s guests, including cultural attractions: the town of puerto vallarta, local craft markets, tequila factory and more; outdoor activities: surfing, golf, whale-watching, kite-surfing, fishing, hiking, scuba-diving, biking, tennis, etc.); and amazing gastronomy in the nearby towns of mita, sayulita, san pancho + la cruz.
valhalla is located just six miles from punta mita resort, and a thirty-minute drive or five-minute helicopter ride from puerto vallarta international airport, with flights to many international hubs.
all proceeds benefit dallas contemporary's spring exhibitions featuring the collection of josé noé suro and a solo presentation by eduardo sarabia.
