write with us

write with us is a workshop for writers of all levels, designed to encourage + strengthen art looking + writing skills. this workshop aims to educate + inspire both new + experienced writers, as well as address the present need for more engaging critical responses to contemporary art in dallas/fort worth. each workshop will look closely at one of the museum’s exhibiting artists.

print with us

print with us is hand-on workshop employing a variety of printmaking techniques, providing a space for material exploration + experimentation. with deep roots as a social art practice, printmaking provides a platform for individuals to visualize + verbalize their ideas. print with us invites participants to harness the power of print+ engage in their own public expression and creative change-making. each workshop is directly inspired by themes present in the museum’s current exhibitions.

this workshop is hosted once per exhibition cycle. all levels of experience are welcome + all materials are provided. capacity is limited.

 

conversation series

our conversation series offers the opportunity for the public to engage directly with dallas contemporary’s exhibiting artists, curators, + guest professionals. meant to promote learning through conversation to increase dialogue, encourage debate, + stimulate exchange in visual art + culture.

family day

dc’s family day is an annual celebration of family, friends, + creativity! in partnership with one of our family friendly exhibitions, this event offers an exclusive all-age friendly experience in dc’s galleries. celebrate love, art, + friendship with local artists at all of our art-making stations + communal activities.

enjoy art and make an impact! canned or non-perishable food will be required for entry to family day, with donations directly supporting Dallas Hope Charities.

college night

inviting all college students! come gather at dallas contemporary for an evening of art, performance, music, and more.

dc’s college night is an art + music-filled night exclusively for north texas college students. this event provides a fun + dynamic setting to hang out with peers while working + networking with local creatives within the museum galleries. college night features an after-hours experience at the museum, with a new DC EMPTY performance by the arts collective anti-avant garde, music by an exciting local dj, an night art market featuring local college student wares, + art making activities with local artists.

artist-led programs

our creative community has a collaborative voice at dc! 

dallas contemporary is collaborating directly with local creatives to present authentic + timely public programs relating to our core values + responding to current social issues. dc is looking for passionate dallas/fort worth based artists, creatives, curators, writers, researchers, activists, scholars, educators, or anyone else with a big idea + an interest in creating engaging educational programming for our community. dc is most excited by programs that engage new audiences, tackle tough but timely subjects, + address the needs of our diverse community.

through this initiative dc hopes to not only present our community with amazing programs, but to elevate + amplify our local artists’ voices -- furthering the mission of our intuition to empower artists' ideas + voices in an aim to chronicle + transform society.

have you always wanted to create a dallas contemporary program? well, here’s your chance! 

dallas contemporary is seeking proposals for public programs relating to our core values + responding to current social issues. topics can explore anything you feel needs to be shared with dc’s audience. these programs can take any form, such as workshops, lectures, panels, etc. we are not seeking exhibition proposals or advertisements. 

artists + educators of all types are encouraged to apply. submissions are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
