dc summer series archive

thank you for being part of our first-ever summer series – an adventure brought to you by a committed and resourceful team who believe in the power of culture and connectivity.

as dallas contemporary entered a new era and the summer, we thought it appropriate to concoct a little celebration. for that, we enlisted a group of friends (old and new), all with radically different expertise, businesses, and backgrounds, but with one shared ideal – the love of people.

over fifteen local vendors set up for our daytime programming with offerings like florals, ceramics, vintage finds, books, and more. dallas’s first poet laureate, joaquín zihuatanejo, popped in + gave us a powerful reading. sanctum med + wellness led mornings with yoga and sound baths + we even had puppies in the building with a pet adoption pop-up by operation kindness.

dolfin records + house of frequencies came on board to curate the music program. they gave us a six dj lineup that included the likes of ben hixon + amy janelle with live performances by juuwah, lord byron, + david morgan – all brought together by ghostdrank’s delectable visuals. cocktails flowed all night (responsibly) courtesy of our friends at painted donkey tequila and townes vodka. + kristin wright was in high demand all summer with flash tattoos inspired by dc exhibitions!

we welcomed over a thousand visitors during five events and are energized to keep it going – so stay tuned for our next series announcements.
